DaimlerChrysler AG Reports Four Percent Sales Increase in U.S. Passenger Vehicles Sales for November 2004

DaimlerChrysler AG (NYSE: DCX), the third largest U.S. automaker, today reported total group sales of 183,112 passenger vehicles in the U.S. for November 2004, up four percent compared to November 2003. All sales figures in this release are on an unadjusted basis unless otherwise noted.
Chrysler Group, which consists of the Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge brands, posted sales of 164,280 vehicles in the U.S., an increase of four percent. Adjusted for one less selling day in November 2004, sales for Chrysler Group actually rose nine percent compared to the same month one year earlier.
Year-to-date sales at Chrysler Group are up three percent compared to the same period in 2003. In the third quarter, the Chrysler Group commenced shipments of the Jeep® Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Dakota to dealers, completing the launch of the nine new products scheduled for the year 2004. Both of these new models have received a very positive response from customers and the press.
Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA), which is launching its biggest product offensive in its history over the next 18 months, posted sales of 18,832 units, an increase of three percent compared to the same month last year, when 18,210 vehicles were sold. Year-to-date sales for MBUSA are 194,714 vehicles compared to 196,930 during the same period last year. Detailed vehicle sales information for MBUSA and Chrysler Group will be announced later today in separate press releases issued by the groups. November 2004 had 24 selling days while November 2003 had 25 selling days.
